About
Hello, my name is Heidy De La Cruz (Reynoso), I am Dominican-American and I’m passionate about writing! I write poetry, encouraging blog post about personal experiences and any message that God has stored in my heart. I am working on publishing my first poetry book.

First and foremost, I am a daughter of Christ, a wife, and a mother.
I have my Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration through Belhaven University, and I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Science with the concentration of Psychology and Healthcare Administration, through Keiser University.

Psychology and mental health are other passions; I love reading about it, and studying it. I am an advocate for therapy because of the way it helped me.
I am an active reader, as well. I love non-fiction books because I love history, and I enjoy learning. The more you know, the better, and I am a true believer that knowledge is power.

The Book: Words From the Heart comes from a place of hurt and trauma. It goes through the journey of processing the trauma, accepting, and healing. It reflects feelings, situations, and stories from the imagination

I Started a Podcast!
And here’s why. In 2019 I got the urge to want to start a podcast, but I was working on my master’s degree, so that was taking up the majority of my free time. In 2020 the world shut down. And last year, I was pregnant and mostly sick. So, this is finally the year I launched my podcast!

It’s called The American Dream in The Eyes of Immigrants. In this podcast, I sit down and talk with immigrants about their journey coming to the United States. We discuss their first memory of the US, their expectations vs. their reality of the US, the culture shocks they experienced, and how they adapted to living in a new country.

These stories are important to tell, they are important to listen to, and they are impo

Dave's Audio Book Recommendation for November 2022

Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story - Bono

Bono—artist, activist, and the lead singer of Irish rock band U2—has written a memoir: honest and irreverent, intimate and profound, Surrender is the story of the remarkable life he’s lived, the challenges he’s faced, and the friends and family who have shaped and sustained him.

Narrated by the author, Surrender is an intimate, immersive listening experience, telling stories from Bono’s early days in Dublin, to joining a band and playing sold out stadiums around the world with U2, plus his more than 20 years of activism.

Throughout a remarkable life, music has always been a constant for Bono and in the audiobook, his distinctive voice is interwoven with a very personal soundtrack adding atmosphere and texture to each and every scene. From moments of classic U2 hits to snippets by The Clash, Patti Smith, Verdi, Johnny Cash and Mozart, Surrender also exclusively features clips of newly recorded re imagined versions of U2 songs including ‘Sunday Bloody Sunday’, ‘With Or Without You’, ‘One’, ‘Beautiful Day’ and more, glimpsed for the first time on Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story.
